Like many of the best multiplayer shooter games, Marvel Heroes ‘ cast is broken up into three distinct gameplay classes: the tanky Vanguard, the close-quarters Duelist, and the revitalizing Strategists. Each character has the potential to deal out effective damage, and a wide range also has healing or ally buffing abilities, which takes away some of the pressure of playing as a supporter-type teammate. It’s possible that Sony may be holding back from showing more of Marvel’s Wolverine to save it for part of its own PlayStation Showcases ** first – much as it did with the initial reveal back in September 2021 – or that the game could make an appearance at August’s Gamescom event instead. This year’s Gamescom is reportedly the biggest yet, and while there have been reports that Sony may be missing it this year, a press release by Pyramid International stated that “the heroic tales of Marvel” will be part of its lineup. Vaughn has stressed that Fox largely kept to his original script for X-Men: Days of Future Past , albeit switching around a couple of secondary characters – notably substituting Quicksilver in the place of Juggernaut , who he had imagined being involved in breaking Magneto out of prison. And yet, for all the script would have been mostly the same, it’s hard not to see Vaughn’s original plan as a better one. The key is in terms of pacing, with a gradual increase in the stakes; the impending conflict between man and mutant would have been neatly signposted in the second film, and there would have been a clear narrative throughline, with Magneto involved in the Kennedy assassination and imprisoned for it in the third installment.
