So, it’s true, there are many ways League is easier. Dota 2 has its tedious recipe system and a risky hidden shop. Meanwhile, League gives shortcuts to every player, like using ‘Recall’ to quickly return to base. Dota 2 heroes can pull out entirely unexpected moves, while League champions generally do the same things. These qualities aren’t only for simplicity’s sake, League of Legends is just more newbie-frien
On July 31, 1989 the North American gaming industry changed forever. This day in history marks the debut of Nintendo’s Game Boy , a portable gaming device that would go on to revolutionize gaming and tap an entirely new market. Unsurprisingly, being able to take your game on the go was incredibly well-recieved by the masses and the handheld has secured its place as an iconic device amongst gamers and casual consumers al
They gave me a chance and let me cast a MOBA game updates and I was like, “Alright, thanks!” He emailed me next week and asked, “Hey, would you like to cast this game too?” I’m like, “Sure,” and he would give me a game to cast. Then, over time, another person reached out, “Hey, do you want to cast this, you want to cast that?” Sure! It just snowballed from th
The games that turned the market on its head. There was no way that Nintendo could have ever known just how popular Pokemon was going to be, but the company decided to test its luck with a new second-party property. This move eventually spawned a trading card game, an anime and countless piles of mo
In “Legends of Yesterday”, written by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and Aaron and Todd Helbing, a strange killer comes to Central City to hunt down Kendra Saunders (Ciara Renée), forcing Barry (Grant Gustin) to seek out Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and his Team Arrow for help. The emergence of a winged warrior who claims to have the answers only complicates things, setting up a villain the likes of which neither Barry nor Oliver has faced bef
“The demon hunter was the project that I decided to do after I went to my first major convention and got a good look at what other people were producing. I mained a demon hunter all the way through Diablo 3 , had loved the character and the artwork associated with it. It seemed a natural choice for me at the time. I just kind of sat down one day, looked at my boyfriend, and said “This. This is what I want to do next.” So I did it. Rather poorly. It was pretty much glued together and the first time I wore it to Megacon, it hadn’t even been sealed, I just slapped paint on it. It evolved quite a bit between Megacon and Supercon. It now just sits on a mannequin in my room, it’s almost too fragile to wear out anymore. There’s a nostalgic part of me that wants to remake it knowing everything I know now
Oddly enough, it’s said that Nintendo actually got their name for the protagonist from a lawyer that successfully defended them in a case against Universal Studios over a dispute regarding the name ‘Donkey Kong’ back in 1984. The lawyer’s name? John Ki
When it was announced that Kendra Saunders would be coming to The Flash before Legends , most assumed it was to give the character a springboard on par with her castmates (the rest of the Legends have been seen in The CW’s universe already). What they didn’t expect was to see the character’s origin worked so completely into the growing fiction of Arrow and The Flash ‘s current sea
As further evidence the writers probably bit off more than they could chew this week, Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) is also shot in the chest by Patty Spivot (Shantel VanSanten) this episode, leaving him clinging to life until Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears) regained his speed with an injection of ‘Velocity 6’ and removed the bullet. We wonder if that will come back late
On one hand, being able to explain the finicky mythology of Hawkgirl and Hawkman in a single scene is an impressive feat. And thanks to Hentschel’s matter-of-fact delivery, viewers will either be on board with the story of reincarnation and endless battle or not. But the consequences of leveraging so much of the episode’s story on new characters is apparent once the credits roll: the presence of Green Arrow is almost an afterthought. There’s a cocktail party scene and some exposition offered by Ra’s al Ghul, but with the crossover setting up such monumental action and mythology, its own importance pales in compari
It’s hard to forget the first time the world familiarized itself with the now iconic pink puffball known as Kirby. Yes, Kirby’s Dream Land marked the debut of Nintendo’s lovable glutton and his popularity has kept the franchise trekking ever since. Immediately appealing to children the world over thanks to his smile-inducing demeanor, the first iteration of Kirby was a smashing success for Ninte
Many free-to-play games have in-game currency that can be purchased with real money, giving those who are willing to shell out actual money a reward. That’s all well and good, but many gamers feel it sets the stage for unbalanced play, as people willing to spend real cash may get better weapons or more play time to level
