The 2013 Disney film, Frozen , catapulted to massive popularity with help from the catchy and inspirational “Let It Go.” The film also features a handful of references to previous Disney and Pixar movies, like Rapunzel and Flynn Rider from Tangled attending Elsa’s coronation. Some even argue Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen from The Princess and the Frog also attend the event. However, you have to look more closely in other scenes to catch Frozen’s nods to Monster’s Inc. and the Mouse House. At Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post and Sauna a wooden figurine of Mike Wazowski is sitting on the counter, while a Micky Mouse doll is hidden on a shelf. However, Anna decides to buy winterwear instead of these references to other Disney and Pixar characters, which we’re sure was the best cho
Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in U.S. theaters on December 18th, 2015. Star Wars: Rogue One arrives a year later on December 16th, 2016, followed by Star Wars: Episode VIII (official subtitle TBA) on May 26th, 2017. The second Star Wars Anthology film (Boba Fett movie?) doesn’t have an official release date
Over the weekend, J.J. Abrams and Stephen Colbert were featured in a two-hour “celebrity nerd-off” during the Montclair Film Festival at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, New Jersey. While Colbert asked Abrams about the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens , the late night talk show host also touched upon Star Trek Into Darkness . According to Jordan Hoffman from Rolling Stone , Abrams admitted that Star Trek Into Darkness had a number of problems, namely that there were too many homages and references to The Wrath of Khan . “Abrams is aware that “we got in trouble on the second Star Trek film with some of the fans,” and admitted. “There were too many nods to The Wrath of Khan. I’ll cop to that.” (Full disclosure: I, the author, was the gentleman who led the now notorious fan panel at the 2013 Las Vegas convention in which we, the aggrieved dweebs of the Trekkie community, declared that Into Darkness was the worst Star Trek film of all time. Very sorry, J.J.) Whether a proposed third Trek film from the Bad Robot crew will serve as a corrective or not remains to be seen, but he acknowledges that the nerds were indeed hea
Aside from pop culture references, the Wachowskis also managed to include one massive hint that most fans probably never noticed. When Neo finally confronts the Architect of the Matrix in the first sequel, he learns that the creator of the system has been following him his entire life (or lives) – and the first movie already offered proof. When Neo is first captured by enemy Agents, a bank of surveillance monitors shows him being interrogated. The exact same monitors the Architect is surrounded by in the next movie reviews|https://movietriviafocus.com/. Critics may claim the directors never planned on more than one film to start, but some of the bigger ideas were clearly there right from the st

To populate the behind-the-scenes world of arcade games in Wreck-It Ralph , animators included characters from classic video games. Bowser, Pac-Man, Sonic the Hedgehog, Q*bert, and Frogger are among those that make an appearance. But, in one wide shot of Game Central Station, two characters unrelated to video games can be seen: Vladimir, one of the thugs in the Snuggly Duckling Pub, and Maximus, the proud palace horse, from Tangled , are walking in opposite directions in the station. There’s also a dinosaur that very closely resembles Tiny the T-Rex from Meet the Robinsons , filling the scene with references to other Disney films amid all the game charact
Although many of the references in Disney movies are to characters from their animated classics collection or Pixar films, occasionally the animation studio will add in a nod to other characters under the Disney banner. In the scene in The Little Mermaid when King Triton makes his entrance in Atlantis to a room full of guests, many have spotted Goofy and Donald Duck sitting in the crowd. But, a second before they become visible, Kermit the Frog is shown seated farther back in the audience, recognizable by his green collar. We can only wonder why the Mickey Mouse and Muppets characters chose not to sit toget
Star Trek Into Darkness was a somewhat polarizing film when it was released in 2013. It was the sequel to a very refreshing and inventive Star Trek reboot from 2009, so expectations were on an all-time high for the follow up. Unfortunately, director J.J. Abrams and screenwriters Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, and Damon Lindelof just delivered the same thing from the reboot, only goofier and with more references to other Star Trek mov
