Fable Needs to Be the Xbox Series X’s Breath of the Wild

Bug Fables is pretty solid in every aspect, but I will admit to some mild frustration due to the game’s dedication to being a Paper Mario tribute act. As a result of the flat style, sometimes the platforming and puzzle sections were a little awkward. Lining up certain jumps could be hard to gauge as the shadows under the characters were too light to reliably determine where I was going to land. This problem could be exacerbated if I was trying to go toward or away from the screen as the ground might not be fully visible due to the camera’s position. The side view of the game could also be a hindrance to solving puzzles as it would be hard to properly aim abilities like Vi’s Beemerang, which made some puzzles more annoying than they should have b

Xbox has shown that a freedom-driven, open-world experience can be accomplished with its first-party game Sea of Thieves from developer Rare (another UK-based studio like Playground Games, by the way). While Sea of Thieves had its own ups and downs, Rare successfully reinvented the game. Again, not that a next-gen Fable should copy Sea of Thieves , but hopefully learnings (and maybe even technology) from that game could be shared between Xbox’s studios to influence Fable in a way that gives players that sense of freedom and helps the game achieve the grand RPG path that was originally envisioned with Project

This unforgiving turn-based strategy series was adored by its niche audience back in the ’90s. After 2001, the franchise dropped off the map for more than ten years until 2012’s X-COM: Enemy Unknown . The title received more attention than usual for the genre and managed to break into the mainstream audience. A sequel came out in 2016, ratcheting up the difficulty and arsenal of weaponry. Rarely do such difficult games garner such a player base, but this decade has seen intense challenges gain a new appreciation with this series and games like Dark Sou

One of the joys of playing Breath of the Wild is its sense of freedom. Like any open-world game, there are always limitations, but the magic comes when a developer can give a sense of freedom while successfully hiding the limits of its virtual world. Breath of the Wild excels at this. Fable should not copy Breath of the Wild’s open world as Fable has its own beloved gameplay and style, but a next-gen Fable would do well to make the revolutionary step forward that made Breath of the Wild so endearing and engaging for the Legend of Zelda franch

We know that Square Enix is working on Kingdom Hearts 3 DLC , but beyond that, we have little details about it or what it may entail. Fans of the quirky action-RPG franchise may get some answers about Kingdom Hearts 3 DLC at Square Enix’s E3 2019 press conference on June 10, as E3 seems like the perfect opportunity to reveal what’s next for the Adventure game online Guide. Here’s hoping the story DLC answers some lingering questions Kingdom Hearts fans may have after finishing the latest game in the ser

Despite this flaw, it still manages to be one of the finest action games of the generation. It wasn’t until Metal Gear Survive when the final nail was hammered into the coffin. A comeback is always possible, but Konami shows no signs of pursuing the franchise any furt

Seemingly inspired by the likes of Rocket League , Roller Champions is reportedly a derby-themed multiplayer sports game that Ubisoft will reveal at E3. Leaks seem to give this game a solid amount of credibility, but this is still best taken as a rumor. Ubisoft has yet to acknowledge its existence, which could easily be taken one way or another, so tuning into Ubisoft’s E3 2019 press conference is likely the best way to see if this rumor is t

Out of all the games rumored for Sony’s press conference, though, one of the most surprising is PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds . Microsoft has supported PUBG ‘s entrance into the console market by pushing it on the Xbox One, going as far as to bundle the game with Xbox One X consoles. It would be surprising to see Microsoft let PUBG slip through its fingers and land on the PS4 storefront, but at E3, anything is possi

Said to have a “small chance” at appearing during Microsoft’s E3 press conference, a Perfect Dark reboot would certainly be welcomed by fans of a franchise long-thought dead. Yet, if this does prove to be the case, it’s rumored to be in third-person and not developed by Rare Studios, marking significant changes from the original, so it remains to be seen how the reception of a reboot would stand up in compari

There’s a reason why gamers look forward to E3 every year. Not only does the show give fans a chance to learn more about already-announced titles, but it’s also used by video game companies to shock the industry with surprise game announcements. There are many surprise game announcements rumored for E3 2018 , and it will be exciting to see if any of them are accur

Nintendo hasn’t made a true Paper Mario game since 2004’s Thousand Year Door , and if you’ve always wished for another game like those first two in the series then you should probably check this out. It doesn’t revolutionize the RPG formula, but Bug Fables shows that you don’t need an Italian plumber to have fun playing with pa
